Terms of Service

Terms of Service

The rules for using Protocol15 as a host, participant, visitor, school, organization, or workshop facilitator.

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Protocol15, including the website, host accounts, participant join flows, hosted sessions, scenario materials, scoring, result views, certificates, facilitator tools, and related services.

By creating a host account, starting a session, joining a session, or using Protocol15, you agree to these Terms. If you use Protocol15 on behalf of an organization, school, company, client, or team, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that use.

01

What Protocol15 is

Protocol15 is a hosted survival-ranking game for live group sessions. Facilitators create sessions, participants join by link or code, teams rank items, and the product provides scoring, expert comparisons, results, debrief materials, and related session outputs.

Protocol15 is a facilitation and game product. It is not an emergency, survival, medical, psychological, employment, legal, financial, or formal educational-assessment service.

02

Eligibility and participant responsibility

Hosts must be able to enter into a binding agreement and are responsible for the sessions they create, configure, and invite others to join.

Protocol15 is not directed to children under 13. Hosts who use the service with minors, students, classrooms, or youth groups are responsible for required consent, supervision, school approvals, privacy obligations, and appropriate use.

Participants may join sessions without creating accounts, but they must follow these Terms and any reasonable instructions from the host.

03

Host accounts

Hosts are responsible for:

  • Account activity
  • Authentication methods and password security
  • Session setup and configuration
  • Participant invitations
  • Room codes and access links
  • Accuracy of account information
  • Use of the service by anyone accessing sessions through their account or invite links

If you believe your account or session has been compromised, contact auth@protocol15.com.

04

Participant access and session links

Participants usually join a session using a room code, invite link, or facilitator-provided access flow. A room code or join link may allow access to the related session, so hosts should share it only with intended participants.

Protocol15 may remove stale participants, limit access, expire links, invalidate sessions, or apply other safeguards when needed to protect reliability, security, or the session experience.

05

Acceptable use

You may not use Protocol15 for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, infringing, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, exploitative, or unsafe activity.

You may not use Protocol15 to:

  • Interfere with, overload, scrape, probe, reverse engineer, bypass, or attack the service
  • Circumvent authentication, room access, participant controls, rate limits, or security protections
  • Upload, enter, or transmit malware, harmful code, or unauthorized automated traffic
  • Misrepresent Protocol15 outputs as professional advice, validated assessment results, or proof of competence
  • Use results to make formal hiring, firing, grading, psychological, medical, legal, credit, or other high-stakes decisions about a person
  • Claim that Protocol15 diagnoses team dynamics, measures individual ability, or scientifically proves team performance

You should not enter sensitive personal information, regulated data, confidential business information, payment card numbers, passwords, government IDs, health data, or information about children beyond what is strictly necessary for a session.

06

User content and session data

Hosts and participants are responsible for the content they provide, including names, nicknames, team names, rankings, messages, session configuration, and any other submitted information.

You grant Protocol15 a limited right to host, process, display, transmit, copy, store, secure, support, analyze, and use that content as needed to operate, maintain, improve, and enforce the service.

You retain ownership of content you submit, subject to the rights granted in these Terms.

07

Session results, scoring, and certificates

Scenario materials, guide rankings, explanations, scores, comparisons, results, trajectory data, and certificates are provided for game, learning, and facilitation purposes.

They may include fictional, simplified, adapted, or source-inspired material. They are not professional advice, safety instructions, training certification, proof of competence, or validated assessment output.

Hosts are responsible for how they present, interpret, discuss, export, or reuse session results with participants or organizations.

08

Ownership of content and assets

Protocol15 and/or its licensors own the website, application, software, interface, visual design, workflows, brand elements, scenario text, facilitator and guide content, item descriptions, images, illustrations, scoring presentation, generated pages, documentation, and related materials.

You may use Protocol15 only through the intended product experience. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, redistribute, modify, extract, scrape, download in bulk, use, or adapt Protocol15 content, visuals, scenario materials, item images, guide content, or related assets for another website, app, game, workshop, deck, training product, dataset, or commercial purpose without prior written permission from Protocol15.

Some third-party materials may be licensed for use within Protocol15 only. Access to the service does not grant you ownership of, or any separate license to reuse, those materials outside Protocol15.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Protocol15, its content, or its materials to you.

09

Plans, billing, cancellations, and refunds

Protocol15 may offer free, trial, paid, beta, plan-limited, or enterprise features.

When paid features are enabled, prices, plan limits, renewal terms, taxes, cancellation rules, and refund terms will be shown at checkout, in the product, or in the Refund Policy.

Unless the checkout flow, applicable law, or a separate written agreement says otherwise:

  • Fees are non-refundable
  • Paid access may renew until canceled
  • Plan limits may apply to sessions, participants, retention, results, exports, or facilitator features
  • Failure to complete payment may result in downgrade, suspension, or loss of access to paid features

10

Third-party services

Protocol15 relies on third-party providers for infrastructure, hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery, payments, storage, security, and other operations.

Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Protocol15 is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control.

11

Beta features and service changes

Protocol15 may add, change, suspend, limit, or remove features, scenarios, plans, limits, integrations, or content at any time.

Some features may be experimental, incomplete, unavailable, or subject to change. The service may be interrupted by maintenance, provider outages, network issues, browser behavior, security events, or other operational conditions.

Protocol15 is not required to maintain any specific feature, scenario, workflow, plan, or integration indefinitely.

12

Termination and suspension

Protocol15 may suspend or terminate access, remove content, disable sessions, expire links, or refuse service when needed to protect the product, users, legal compliance, payment integrity, security, or these Terms.

You may stop using Protocol15 at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including payment obligations, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, privacy, and dispute-related terms.

13

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Protocol15 is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.

Protocol15 does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, or available at all times. Protocol15 disclaims all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and reliability.

You are responsible for deciding whether Protocol15 is appropriate for your session, audience, organization, and use case.

14

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Protocol15 and its owners, operators, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages.

This includes loss of data, goodwill, business, revenue, opportunities, expected outcomes, or claims arising from:

  • Live-session failure
  • Participant behavior
  • Host configuration
  • Room access or invite links
  • Third-party services
  • Scenario content
  • Scores, results, comparisons, or certificates
  • Unauthorized access
  • Service interruptions
  • Use or interpretation of session outputs

To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount paid to Protocol15 for the service in the three months before the claim or 100 USD.

15

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Protocol15 and its owners, operators, affiliates, suppliers, and licensors from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from:

  • Your sessions
  • Participant invitations
  • Content submitted by you or your participants
  • Misuse of the service
  • Violation of these Terms
  • Violation of law
  • Infringement or alleged infringement of another person's rights
  • Use of Protocol15 in an organization, school, client, workshop, or team setting
